'Protection' ('Zashchita') biological complex
A few words as a way of introduction
Least of all would the author want to represent his article in the genre of a treatise with a monotonous listing of the work fulfilled and results obtained.
A new method of biological protection of the human being and animals proposed to the readers' attention has no similar ones in the world's medical and veterinary practices.
It is this circumstance that was the reason of writing this article.
On what 'whales' does the invention rest?
Seven years' experience of experimenting on various sites, with various types of microflora, in various spheres of human activities has fully confirmed the author's idea of a possibility to withstand microorganisms of any systematic groups (bacteria, viruses, fungi, spores, protozoa). The three conceptions of the author's predecessors are the base of the invention.
The first one — by Hippocrates who maintained that infectious diseases of people are caused by air contaminated with various miasma.
The second one — by Russian scientists who discovered a phenomenon of electrochemical activation of low-mineralized water solutions.
The third one — by American and English researchers who proved that various types and groups of microorganisms live and propagate on nutrient mediums only within a certain range of oxidation-reduction potential values which depend on acid-base properties of these mediums.
Now about health
Whereas the article refers to health and business, the author claims to link these two diametrically opposite, from the economical point of view, concepts. For health, as is known, has a nature of expenditure, and business a nature of income.
Still, let us have a go.
So, we'll start with health. With wishes of this health to ourselves and to all mankind in 2003 and in the future.
Man has lots of problems. A major one, if not the paramount, is that man spends most of his time in a closed space. Simply speaking, in a room. It is not important what it is called: a home or office, workshop or farm, a vehicle or sports hall. In any closed space microflora has a tendency to accumulate, concentrating in places difficult of access for treatment, and from such places they surreptitiously deliver strikes on man and animal.
A fear of infectious diseases and epidemics made man inventive. Apart from sanitary and hygienic measures, apart from numerous medicinal preparation and vitamins, apart from vaccines and serums, people have invented hundreds of various reagents, in order to preserve themselves and the environs.
It should be said at once that almost all substances used as disinfectants refer to the class of stable chemical compounds, have a concrete formula, and under no circumstances are produced by the human system for its own protection.
Let us memorize this phrase. It will be helpful to us later. Moreover, there is anecdotal evidence everywhere that microflora gets adapted to any chemical compounds. Mutated microbes have appeared which man has never before handled and did not know how to control them. Man's habitat deteriorated from year to year, making him come up with ever so new protection means, driving him to a dead end.
Digression
Now it is high time we made a pause and speculate a little. Nature would help us to make great discoveries when we kept an attentive eye on something, wouldn't it? For instance, on an apple that dropped from a tree, a bird's flight or a dragonfly's hover, a blinding zigzag of lightning.
Let us look attentively at water. Have you ever drunk water from a mountain stream? Washed with rainwater after a storm? This is wonderful water, isn't it? It is head and shoulders to pipe water, tasteful and useful. It refreshes and invigorates. Solar radiation and electric discharge brought about all these magic transformations. It is these factors that changed the structure of water, gave it new properties, made it special.
Resuming our discussion
Can a similar result be obtained artificially? It turns out it can! Using a phenomenon of electrochemical activation, you can transform ordinary water in such a way that it will remind natural water in its properties.
And when you increase mineralization of water (in other words, add a little salt) solutions can be obtained which have a suppressive action on microorganisms in the widest range of pH and redox potential. And this is extremely important — electrochemically activated solutions (ECAS) contain a mixture of components that are normally synthesized in the human system and that of warm-blooded animals by cellular enzymes and take part in neutralization of harmful and foreign substances. Nothing of the kind was observed when using stable chemical compounds.
However, it is early to celebrate. Let us draw conclusions. So, we have obtained another useful solution that can be used not only as a disinfectant but also as a medication. We have improved ecological conditions, for an active life of an ECAS is several hours, and it is not accumulated in the surroundings. We have saved some money, for this kind of solution is extremely cheap (its primary components are pipe water and kitchen salt). Microorganisms cannot adapt to it (judging by 10 years of observations).
But this gives us little practical significance. Applications are the same, conventional ones: a rub and an immersion, and there is one sphere of application — medicine. We ought to think something new. Let us go on speculating.
Spraying
If man is 70% water, he is not indifferent to the air medium, especially with a certain content of oxygen.
Microorganisms are most often transported in air flows together with dust (both visible and invisible), finding their way into rooms, depositing on all surfaces, objects, forming accumulations — colonies. Let us recall Hippocratus with his saying that 'miasma hover in the air'. The first epidemiologist of the ancient times knew from where man should await trouble.
We know from the immense experience of man that the simplest and most effective method of treating closed spaces is spraying.
First, it is more economical than other methods, for it greatly reduces disinfectant consumption.
Second, particles of a solution more readily interact with microflora.
Third, there is a possibility to treat not only all surfaces of a room but also of all objects inside, and also of the air medium.
If you use an ECAS as a biocide solution, you have an entire series of valueless advantages. Charged particles of the solution stay in the air longer ensuring therewith a better disinfecting quality, there is no effect of 'wet walls', and there is a possibility to conduct treatment in the presence of animals and people.
Is there any need in a step forward?
This is already a gigantic step forward. This is already a technology. It is to say that a necessary requirement of any biological treatment will be the presence in a single complex of two functional modules: a module for preparing ECA solutions and a module for obtaining an aerosol. And the sufficient requirement will be the availability of the checklist of a site where for a specific microorganism or a group of microorganisms there will be indicated: parameters of an ECA solution (pH, redox potential, temperature, consistency of oxidants); a description of an aerosol (dispersion, mass concentration); treatment conditions: disinfecting time, exposure, length of pauses, number of treatment cycles, alternation of solutions etc.
In a unique case 'Biological complex' may look like a combination of three devices: an electrochemical activator, an aerosol generator, and a control unit operating a checklist according to a preset program. All characteristics of the devices are adjustable and make it possible to affect habitats of microorganisms in the widest range, destroying conditions of their nutrition and propagation. And man's habitat is not subjected to significant changes. Negative factors are not brought into it, this is even more important that for the first time there is a possibility to conduct preventive treatments in the presence of people and animals.
Biological complex 'Zashchita' ('Protection') is a versatile and highly efficient tool. It can operate both in the rigid disinfecting mode and in the mode of preventive treatment of objects (in the presence of people and animals).
And when we recall medicinal properties of ECA solutions (evidenced by immense experience of Russian and Japanese scientists), the trend of using spray complexes in therapeutic medicinal and veterinary practices seems to be highly promising.
In Russia aerosol complexes have been successfully functioning for 4 years in a great number of large enterprises and institutions.
However, as the accumulated experience shows, application of ECA sprays requires designing special aerosol equipment and unconventional treatment modes on account of exceptional activity of solutions. It is due to this reason that it is not deemed possible to use existing spray apparatuses.
Finally about business
Now is high time we talked about business.
The practical uses of the invention are extremely wide and cover many spheres of human activities: medicine and agriculture, transport, food and processing industries, urban economy, water treatment, sports, daily activities etc.
According to American researchers (and Americans are second to none in counting up money) the expenses of 1 dollar for preventive measures against diseases yield the profits of 2.7 dollars. Annually losses from epidemics (and no nation in the world is insured against them, even the safest one) amount to billions of dollars. With the help of biological complex 'Zashchita' ('Protection') you can preserve livestock of cattle and fowl, fruit and vegetables, raw and finished materials, buildings and structures, railroad cars and ship holds. The complex can be used in emergency situations caused by man-caused and natural disasters.
Any large enterprise and institution is in need of such a complex for various purposes. And it means many a thousand units of equipment.
And when the biological complex is to be used for personal needs, say to prevent flu during an epidemic period, this already presupposes mass production.
As may be seen with a naked eye, the sales markets are immense. But the main thing is to preserve ourselves and the surroundings, not making nature change its appearance which we are accustomed to and which we love so dearly.
